Slovenia - Ljubljana

Day 201 - Friday, August 10

Friday was mainly a travel day. The train from Budapest to Ljubljana left at noon and took about 9 hours. After arriving, I watched some Olympics coverage and crashed. I hadn't seen much of the Olympics to that point, which is a bit sad, because I usually enjoy watching when I'm at home. Fortunately, the hotel I was staying in had satellite TV, with about 10 different channels of Olympics coverage, so I watched for a while on Friday night.

Day 202 - Saturday, August 11

I decided to go for a run to get some exercise and see the city. And yet again, I got caught in the rain. I've gotten pretty used to this by now. Later, I headed to the main shopping area to check out cameras. As with my experience camera shopping in SE Asia, all the prices were well in excess of retail and "street"(i.e., Amazon) prices in the US. I jotted down the prices of the cameras available and headed back to the hotel to watch some more olympics, do some camera research, and try to catch up on the blog a bit.

Day 203 - Sunday, August 12

More Olympics; more exercise (my hotel doubled as a somewhat nice gym). I explored the city a bit more, and tried to sort out some details for the next couple of days, for which the plan was to climb Mt. Triglav (more on that in the next blog). On the whole it was a nice relaxed stay in Ljubljana, which was a small, quiet city (Europe's smallest capital city). I didn't take any pictures while I was there, but here's a few because I feel like I can't just have a whole blog with no pictures:
