Croatia - Korcula

Day 212 - Tuesday, August 21

As noted in the last blog I took the 6pm ferry to Korcula, which was only a couple of hours south. In Korcula I was staying at House Sale, which was a neat little guesthouse run by a guy who made his own wine from grapes grown at a vineyard only a mile or so from the house. So me and some of the others staying there hung out for a while that night while he kept filling our glasses with his homemade wine on the patio that overlooked the city before heading out for a bit.

Day 213 - Wednesday, August 22

I was originally planning to a do a hike on the island across the way, but Ante, the owner of the guesthouse told me that was really bad idea because it was way too hot and that someone had died 3 days previous trying to do the same hike. That sounded a little far-fetched to me, but I decided to heed his warning, and instead just explored the city a bit and caught an awesome sunset:

Day 214 - Thursday, August 23

I thought Wednesday would be my only real day to see Korcula, because the ferry from Korcula to Dubrovnik was early in the morning. Turns out, it almost always sells out and they don't sell tickets before the day of, so people start lining up for tickets before 6 for the 8am ferry, and many end up not getting on the boat. I decided that sounded pretty awful, so I opted to sleep in, relax on the "beach" (i.e., a flat spot on some rocks) and catch the 4pm bus instead. Some pictures from Thursday:
